philosophers stone

The philosophers’ stone…

Elixir of life

where the dead awake

The enlightening minds thrives

The immortal soul you already have

Before your journey begins

MAGNUM OPUS – a word born to seekers

where Heros only can go

♥ with purity of heart ♥

A steadfast course

Through rough seas and storms

past songs of  sirens

Past lands of old

where cyclops roam and witches brew

To the alchemy of life

Sailing the crest of gold

under the moonlit stars

where mermaids swim

Unicorns roam

To the land where love is the answer

But hold on tight

Ones  journey  has just begun

The philosophers stone is more than a stone

The anchor to ones essence

so shout to the stars

with all of your might

To guide you on your journey

Sacred Lavender Bread

Sacred Lavender Bread.

Lavender Bread

The symbolic & spiritual connotations of bread are worldwide, history deep & culturally rich ~ Bread is also written about from Faery Myths ~ By eating bread we keep away ‘bad faery’ magic ~ coincidentally many spiritual & religious followings use bread as symbolic for purifying our souls ~ There are many different recipes for Lavender Bread ~ Here is one of my favourites with my variations ~

  • 1/2 cup whole milk

  • 2 tablespoons lavender honey

  • 2 tablespoons plus dried lavender blossoms

  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup sour cream full fat (8 oz container)

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter ~ softened but not melted

  • 3 large eggs lightly whisked

  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

In a small milk saucepan simmer milk

add honey

add 1 tablespoon lavender blossoms.

Stir gently with love away from bottom of milk saucepan ~

Keep stirring with LOVE until honey dissolves

Remove from heat

~  cover ~

BLESS YOUR BREAD ~ Express gratitude giving thanks for all that helped farm the ingredients, process, package & deliver ~

steep lavender honey milk mixture 30 minutes.

While steeping preheat oven to 350°F.

Butter and flour 10-cup fluted pan ~ I prefer a Heart Shaped Cake pan I have ~

Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in medium bowl.

Strain milk mixture into another medium bowl

discard solids in strainer.

Whisk sour cream into milk ~ blending ~

Fluff  1 cup sugar and butter with a whisk in large bowl.

Add egg mixture 1/3 at a time ~beating until blended after each addition ~ when finished adding egg mixture

Add flour mixture alternately with milk mixture in 1/3 additions 3 xs beating just until smooth after each addition but for a delicate texture, mix in the dry ingredients just until the lavender bread batter is blended.

Pour batter into your prepared pan ~

smooth top with coking spatula ~

45 minutes baking time or until straw or toothpick tester inserted near center comes out clean ~

For the first 10 minutes cool your lavender bread in your pan on a cooling rack ~ Then turn baked bread into a muslin type dish towel ~ wrap the bread gently and finish cooling on rack

Take your remaining Lavender blossoms & the powdered sugar and pour into a small sieve/strainer ~

PRESS sugar mixture through strainer.

SIFT strained powdered sugar & lavender blossom mixture over your bread.

Best when cooled and served with hearty butter like farm butter or on its own.

Your bread may also be decorated with Lavender Flowers ~ Another addition is to add 1/4 teaspoon of Aniseeds

Dance of the Flame

Two flames flickering in the arms of an unseen force
Drawn together In service of love
A rhythmic beat as old as time
Eternally calling forth
Sometimes they dance together
Sometimes they dance apart
But always joined with by an unseen force
Fed on the milk of love
when you are ready to dance together
Two roads will become one
Always feeding on the milk of love
In the arms of the dove
